What is a digital wedding invitation?

A digital wedding invitation is a web page created for your celebration. Instead of sending a JPG or PDF, you send a link. Guests open it in their browser and see the names, date, time, venue, map, message and RSVP contact details in one place.

Because it is a live page, the invitation can also include an animated opening, countdown and buttons that would not work inside a printed card. If WhatsApp is how most of your guests communicate, this format is especially practical.

Why send a link instead of an image?

A beautifully designed image can still work, but it becomes awkward when guests need to find the location, save the date or contact the RSVP person. A live invitation keeps those actions one tap away.

The finished invitation also stays sharp on different screen sizes. Guests do not need to pinch and zoom to read small text.

  • Animated envelope opening before the invitation appears
  • Clear date, time and venue information
  • Google Maps directions
  • Add-to-calendar link
  • WhatsApp, phone or email RSVP buttons
  • QR code for printed cards, signs or welcome boards

What should a wedding invitation include?

Keep the essential information easy to find. The couple names and event date should be obvious before anything else. Venue details, directions and RSVP information should come next.

If you are hosting several wedding functions such as Mehndi, Sangeet, Nikah, Barat or Walima, create a separate invitation for each event when the date, venue or mood changes. ZM Gifts now includes dedicated South Asian wedding-function templates so each celebration can have its own identity.

Designed for WhatsApp sharing

After publishing, copy the invitation link and send it with a short personal message. Guests tap the link and open the invitation directly in their phone browser. There is no app to install.
